About the projects
On January 15, 2016, the Act of 22 December 2016 on the Integrated Qualifications System entered into force. The minister responsible for the proper functioning of the IQS is the Minister of National Education. On January 19, 2016, the Minister of National Education entrusted the Educational Research Institute with the implementation of the project "Support to central government administration, awarding bodies and quality assurance institutions in implementing stage I of the Integrated Qualifications System". The project will last until the end of June 2018.
The aims of the project include:
- preparing the ministries to include regulated qualifications in the system,
- providing detailed descriptions of IQS procedures, the process of describing qualifications, quality assurance and validation,
- preparing 70 descriptions of qualifications awarded outside the formal general, vocational and higher education systems,
- producing an online database of good practices in the validation of learning outcomes and a catalogue of methods used to validate learning outcomes,
- identifying and preparing institutions capable of performing the functions of awarding bodies or external quality assurance entities,
- launching an online information centre about the IQS on the IQS portal,
- developing four sectoral qualifications frameworks,
- publishing manuals and e–learning courses.
