The stakeholders of the Integrated Qualifications System (IQS) meet in Warsaw

On 21 July 2016, the meeting of the Educational Research Institute (IBE) experts with the IQS stakeholders was held - the participants included representatives of employee organizations, employers (including industries), non-formal education institutions, as well as central administration officials.

The IQS project leader, Agnieszka Chłoń-Domińczak, PhD, described the main tasks of the team:

  • training of the Ministry officials for the implementation of the provisions of the IQS Act;
  • supporting stakeholders interested in including their qualifications from outside the school and higher education systems into the IQS;
  • preparation of the institutions able to act as awarding bodies for the implementation of qualification and quality assurance guidelines;
  • preparation of guidelines, methods and training experts in identifying and documenting the competences of applicants for qualifications;
  • developing a support system for external quality assurance bodies to conduct external evaluations;
  • supporting all interested parties in developing sectoral qualification frameworks,
  • monitoring of the functioning of the IQS.

Professor Jacek Sroka discussed the reasons why stakeholders should be seeking support in the development of the IQS and great importance of the cooperation of all parties involved in this project.

During the meeting, the process of including market qualifications into the IQS and validating market qualifications was discussed, as well as the role of stakeholders in creating sectoral qualification frameworks. The procedures of selecting qualifications where the stakeholders will receive support from the project team in developing descriptions were also discussed.
