On frameworks for higher education
We participated in the first European meeting of National Correspondents and National Coordination Points on October 26, 2010 in Strasbourg. The topic of the meeting was the development of qualification frameworks. Poland was represented by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Zbigniew Marciniak and Agata Bader from the Bureau of Academic Recognition and International Exchange (the Bureau currently serves as the Contact Point for the NQS).
The meeting was chaired by Sjur Bergan, the Director of the Higher Education and Research Division of the Council of Europe. Among his remarks, he stated that closer cooperation is needed among the teams for higher, general and vocational education, not only on a national level, but also internationally. He expressed interest in organizing further meetings. Prof. Marciniak spoke about the legal aspects of implementing frameworks in Poland.
